Position Summary:
The Assistant Manager, Technology Services is responsible for supporting the Manager Technology Services (Manager of Information Systems, Manager of Information Technology) in the day to day supervision, activities, and service delivery of the Technology Services teams including applications, network, server, and help desk teams. This includes helping the manager coordinate all corporate-wide systems support issues, new technology implementations, and leadership of the Technology Services teams.

Responsibilities:

Coordinate/Manage Technology Services Staff and Process

  • Help manage and coordinate the activities of the teams (applications, network, server, helpdesk).
  • Ensure departmental and corporate policies and procedures are in alignment and being followed.
  • Represent Technology Services team at departmental and corporate meetings.

Coordinate/Maintain Technical Environment Activities
  • Ensure uninterrupted service and support for patient care systems and departmental applications.
  • Trouble-shooting/escalation of system, network, or application failures with internal and external resources.
  • Coordinate all technical support and system management for various corporate and CHAMP technical systems.
  • Coordinate maintenance, upgrades, and support escalation activities for technical systems.

Management of Helpdesk & Technical Infrastructure
  • Under the direction of the Manager Technology Services, the Assistant Manager shall:
  • Monitor and report to manager the key metrics on Help Desk Customer Service delivery and satisfaction for internal clients and external clients within the CHAMP program.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date electronic PC, hardware and technical inventories.
  • Evaluate technical environment needs, capital requirements and acquisitions.

Special Projects
  • Under the direction of the Manager Technology Services, the Assistant Manager shall:
  • Conduct analysis and reviews for the Technical infrastructure and management of IT environment.
  • Coordinate all project activities with vendors, end users and hospital personnel in conjunction with other IS/IT Management staff and the Director.
  • Participate in review of vendor proposals, RFP’s, service contracts.

Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education and five (5) years’ experience in an information systems or information technology role.
  • Or ten (10) years’ related commensurate experience in information technology, systems analysis & implementations, and management complex projects, in lieu of formal education.
  • Previous leadership and/or management role in information systems or information technology.
  • Experience managing complex technology implementations/projects.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and excellent organization, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Requires sound oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple simultaneous tasks/projects for multiple clients with ability to meet tight deadlines.
    Preferred:
  • Previous healthcare technology experience.
  • Microsoft, Cisco, VMWare, Citrix, and ITIL certifications.
  • Project Management Professional certification.
  • Experience supporting the MEDITECH HIS technical environment.



Salary:  To be discussed

Terms of Employment:  Temporary, full-time
